Zakat Calculator — your madhhab, your nisab

Zakat is due at 2.5% of qualifying wealth held for a lunar year. Choose your school of thought, pick a gold or silver nisab, enter your assets — and watch every step of the calculation explain itself. Nothing is uploaded; it all runs in your browser.

Hanafi (traditional): silver nisab is commonly preferred — it is lower, so zakat becomes obligatory sooner, which is seen as more cautious and more charitable.

    Zakat questions, answered plainly

    01

    What is nisab?

Nisab is the minimum wealth that makes zakat due: 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver, valued at today's prices.

    02

    Why 2.5%?

Zakat is 2.5% of qualifying wealth held for one lunar year (hawl). It is one of the five pillars of Islam.

    03

    Gold or silver nisab?

Hanafi tradition commonly uses silver; Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali commonly use gold. Many modern scholars recommend silver — it is lower, so you give sooner. Ask your scholar.

    04

    Is my data private?

Completely. Nothing is uploaded or tracked — every calculation happens in your own browser.
